RESILIA: Resilient Mental Health and Empowerment for Migrant Women in Vulnerable Contexts

The RESILIA project (“Mental Health Resilience and Empowerment of Migrant and Displaced Women in Vulnerable Situations”) is co-funded by the European Commission and coordinated by Piaget (Portugal). It addresses the mental health challenges faced by cis and trans migrant and displaced women in vulnerable situations, including victims of human trafficking and violence, as well as refugee and asylum-seeking women.
The project is being implemented in Portugal, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Bulgaria and applies approaches based on an understanding of trauma, as well as cultural and gender sensitivity, to adequately address the specific needs of these women.
RESILIA’s main objective is to support European Union member states by providing knowledge, tools, and evidence-based sustainable practices to improve mental health policies and systems for this population group. By focusing on overcoming structural barriers, stigma, and discrimination, the project promotes inclusive and preventive approaches in line with EU strategies.
